Thomas L. Jordan

Director of Retail Integration

• A native Californian, Tom attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco
• Only drinks Sonoma wine, and believes Napa needs to be invaded
• Favorite quote: “I believe life should always be enjoyed to the fullest, just think
of all those people who passed up dessert on the Titanic!”
• Inspiration: the one thing that unites all of mankind, regardless of our age,
gender, religion or ethnic background, is that we all believe that we are
  above-average drivers

Tom has been an Art Director, Creative Director, Design Director, and Director of Visual Merchandising, and over the years has still found time to paint landscapes, which he does when he’s not soaking up rays, drinking margaritas and eating sponge cake! Tom provides the creative vision, design strategy, and visualization to a broad client base. His work is based on our innovative process where research, design, and intuition combine to transform strategic foresight into tangible products, interactions, and environments.

Tom has a long history in retail design and visual merchandising. Prior to joining IR, his handywork could be seen in Walmart, ExxonMobil, McDonald’s, Office Depot, and Seattle’s Best Coffee, just to name a few. Most recently, Tom was the Director of Retail Communications at The Home Depot, but he prefers to be back working again on the agency side of the fence, where he claims it is a different and more gratifying type of insanity. His years of experience have taught him that good creative comes only from good insights, but more importantly, it’s all about the realities of maintaining a seamless brand and user experience, from couch to checkout.

New rules of engagement mean exceeding the traditional way of doing business.
