Sheryl Mayle
Office Manager
• Worked for American Airlines for 16 years; as an analyst, she created
statistical reports, managed databases, provided IT support, and was able to
squeeze in a little traveling to 17 different countries on 5 continents
• Earned a BS in Communications Media from Appalachian State University in
Boone, NC, and has claimed to see enough snow in four years to last a lifetime
• Not one to be idle, she lives to experience everything enthusiastically, from
viewing magnificent vistas to fascinating urban landscapes, and capturing the
beauty in a photograph
• Favorite quote: "The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects
it to change; the realist adjusts the sails." by William Arthur Ward
True to her motto, Sheryl and her husband saved up their pennies and put their careers on hold for a couple of years to cruise on their 35' sailboat. First, they had to learn how to sail, but sail they did–all along the Eastern Caribbean islands and up to Bermuda, learning to live without refrigeration, and relying just on each other. And yes, they are still happily married today! They sailed aboard Prudence from 2006-2009 and Sheryl increased her country count to 26. They really aren't sure about doing it again, probably not, but never say never.
Sheryl is always seeking out new horizons with a "can do" attitude and finds ways to make it happen.
